After completing the Lockdown series in Bali, Indonesia, Zawacki entered a nomadic chapter — splitting his time between San Francisco and Lisbon while working without a permanent studio.

It was during this period that PAPEL emerged: a series developed in Lisbon in 2022 and later exhibited in his solo show PAPEL in Soho, London.

Born from momentum and instability, the series transforms simple paper folds into sharp, architectural compositions. Clean lines, shifting shadows, and suspended forms create a sense of calm play — a stripped-back world where color and structure do the talking.
